مقایسه و نقد دیدگاه‌های جان شلنبرگ و پاسکال دربارۀ مسئلۀ اختفای الهی

چکیده

نظریه اختفای الهی دیدگاهی است که مدعی است خداوند دلایل کافی برای شناخت خود را در اختیار انسان‌ها قرار نداده است. از نظر شلنبرگ اختفای الهی اثبات می‌کند که خدایی وجود ندارد چون اگر وجود داشت دلایل کافی برای شناخت خود را در اختیار انسان‌ها قرار می‌داد، در حالی‌که چنین نکرده است. اما از نظر پاسکال اختفای الهی به دلیل تأثیرات مثبتی که بر باطن انسان‌ها دارد برای خداباوری لازم و ضروری می‌باشد. نتایجی که از بررسی‌های انجام شده در این مقاله و مقایسه دیدگاه‌های این دو فیلسوف به‌دست می‌آید این است که دلایل پاسکال نمی‌تواند ضرورت اختفای الهی را توجیه کند. در عین حال استدلال شلنبرگ بر مبنای اختفای الهی قابل پاسخگویی توسط خداباوران بوده و نمی‌تواند الحاد را توجیه کند.

چکیده [English]

Based on the theory of “divine hiddenness”, God has not given human beings sufficient reasons to know Him. According to Schellenberg, divine hiddenness indicates that there is no god, because if there were, he would give humans sufficient reasons to know Him, but he did not. However, according to Pascal, divine hiddenness is necessary for theism because of the positive effects it has on human beings’ life. Our findings of the comparison of the two philosophers’ views are that Pascal's reasons cannot justify the necessity of divine hiddenness. At the same time, Schellenberg's argument based on the divine hiddenness can be answered by theists and cannot justify atheism.
