Copyright

While providing a platform for wide dissemination and the promotion of scholarly knowledge, the journal is fully committed to protecting the fundamental rights of authors.

Copyright Retention by Authors

Authors retain full and unrestricted copyright and publication rights to their works published in the journal. This approach stands in contrast to publishing models that require authors to transfer complete copyright ownership to the publisher.

License to Use

All content is published under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0)

This “Attribution” license permits the public to share, reproduce, and redistribute the work, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and the journal.

Licenses for Third‑Party Materials

If an article includes materials (such as figures, tables, images, or text excerpts) that have been previously published or created by third parties, authors are required to obtain written permission from the copyright holder for both print and online formats prior to submission. Authors must ensure that the following rights have been secured:

  • A non‑exclusive right to reproduce the material in the article
  • The right to print and electronic publication
  • The right to worldwide publication in English
  • The right to use the material for the entire lifetime of the work, without temporal limitation on reuse

Attribution and Citation

Proper attribution must be provided for all third‑party materials included in the article. If an article is published as open access but contains materials for which the author does not hold open‑access reuse rights, this must be clearly stated in an explanatory note. Such a note must identify the original source and explicitly indicate that the specific material is not covered by the article’s Creative Commons license.

As a scholarly publisher, the journal generally requires explicit permission or prior agreement even for the reuse of materials published under Creative Commons licenses.

Consequences of Failure to Obtain Permission

Any material submitted without clear documentation of permission will be presumed to be the original work of the authors. Failure to obtain the necessary permissions for copyrighted materials may result in significant delays in publication, removal of the material from the final version, or other measures deemed necessary by the journal.

Archiving and Digital Preservation

All articles published in the journal are digitally archived in the institutional repository of the University of Tehran and the National Library of Iran to ensure long‑term preservation and perpetual access to scholarly content. This process safeguards the journal’s research heritage against technological changes and guarantees uninterrupted access to the complete and final versions of published works for researchers and libraries in the future.
